Josh Pascarelli averaged 26.5 points per game while shooting .600 (9-for-15) from three-point range and .588 (20-for-34) from the field as Marist was one of three MAAC teams to go undefeated this weekend. Pascarelli scored a career-high 31 points in an 89-81 triumph over Canisius on Friday, going 11-for-16 from the field and 6-for-9 from three-point range. The six threes tied a career high, and he also had two assists and two rebounds. Against Niagara on Sunday, Pascarelli scored 22 on 9-for-18 shooting from the field and 3-for-6 from deep. He also had three assists and two rebounds. He scored 14 points in the second half to help the Red Foxes withstand a late Niagara charge, including a dunk with 45 seconds remaining that gave Marist a three-possession lead. Pascarelli was the game's leading scorer in both outings, and he scored more points than any player in the conference over the weekend.
Rookie of the Week
Gavin Doty, Siena
Fr., Fulton, NY, Fulton
Gavin Doty nearly averaged a double-double over the weekend, averaging 17.5 points and 9.0 rebounds. The guard shot 71% from the field and was a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line. On Friday, Doty posted his fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Niagara. On Sunday, Doty established a new career-high and led all scorers with 23 points against Canisius, while adding eight rebounds and three steals.
