Fairfield’s Kozak, Iona’s Varada, and Niagara’s Delles Slated as Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Kozak, Fairfield

Amanda Kozak racked up nine points with three goals and six assists in Fairfield's 17-7 win over Rider on Saturday. She either scored or assisted nine of the Stags' first 14 markers. Her nine points are the most in a MAAC game this season and her six assists were the most by a league player in any contest this spring.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kira Varada, Iona
Sr., Montrose, NY, Hendrick Hudson
 
In a win over Marist, Kira Varada stuffed every stat category. She notched seven points with four goals and three assists. She added nine draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Every stat was a team and game high.
 
Rookie of the Week
Michaela Delles, Niagara
Fr., Philadelphia, NY, Indian River
 
Michaela Delles tallied five points in Niagara’s 11-10 victory over Canisius. She recorded four goals on five shots, while adding an assist in the win. Delles also won a draw control and picked up one ground ball.
 
The 2025 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place between April 25 and May 4, 2025. The first and second rounds will be hosted by the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds on Friday and Sunday, April 25 and 27. The bracket will reseed following the second round and the semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the No. 1 seed in the field on Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4.
