Marist Sweeps Jersey Mike’s MAAC Softball Weekly Awards

Haley Ahr, Marist

Haley Ahr hit .563 (9-for-16) with a 1.986 OPS (1.375 slugging, .611 on-base) plus four home runs, eight RBIs, and six runs scored as Marist went 4-1 this past week in the Coach Cooke Memorial Tournament, hosted by Winthrop. She had multi-hit games in four of Marist's five contests. Against Southern Indiana this past Friday, Ahr tied a single-game program with three home runs in Marist's 11-0 triumph. The following day, she had two hits apiece as Marist defeated two teams that won over 30 games last season in Youngstown State and Charlotte, a 2024 NCAA Tournament team. She closed the weekend by belting a grand slam in a 9-0 triumph over St. Bonaventure, finishing the game by going 2-for-3 with five RBIs, two runs scored, and adding a double. Ahr also handled 30 fielding chances flawlessly while seeing action at first base and second base.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Kiley Myers, Marist

Kiley Myers pitched 13 shutout innings as she went 2-0 this past week, earning victories against Southern Indiana and a Charlotte team that played in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. She recorded nine strikeouts and had a WHIP of just 0.69, and she permitted just eight hits and one walk. Against Southern Indiana last Friday, Myers tossed six shutout innings in Marist's 11-0 victory. She struck out three and gave up just three hits and one walk. The following day, Myers went all the way in a 6-0 triumph over Charlotte. She fanned six, walked no one, and permitted just five hits. For the week, she allowed the opposition to hit just .163 against her.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sienna Kunze, Marist
Fr., Chandler, AZ, Perry
 
Sienna Kunze led Marist with a .571 (8-for-14) batting average and contributed a 1.718 OPS (1.071 slugging, .647 on-base) this past week as the Red Foxes went 4-1 in the Coach Cooke Memorial Tournament, hosted by Winthrop. Kunze hit safely in every game, homered twice, scored three runs, drove in three, drew three walks, and stole two bases this past week. She had three multi-hit games, and was not retired in a 6-0 victory over 2024 NCAA Tournament team Charlotte (2-for-2, two runs scored, home run, walk, stolen base). Kunze reached safely four times in an 11-0 win over Southern Indiana on Friday, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks. She handled 18 fielding chances successfully without committing an error, as she split time between second base and catcher.
 
The 2025 MAAC Softball Championship is an eight-team single and double elimination championship taking place between May 6-10, 2025. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination and games 3-12 will be double elimination. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
