Fairfield’s Kozak, Iona’s Varada, and Mount’s Molchanoff Collect Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Kozak, Fairfield

Amanda Kozak racked up 16 points in a 2-0 week for the Stags, comprised of five goals and 11 assists. She had eight points in each end of Fairfield's unbeaten week, dropping two goals and six helpers on Wednesday at Canisius followed by a hat trick with five assists in Saturday's win over Manhattan at Rafferty Stadium.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kira Varada, Iona
Sr., Montrose, NY, Hendrick Hudson
 
Across two games Kira Varada was all over the place stuffing the stat sheet in a 1-1 week for the Gaels. Defensively, she recorded 13 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and five draw controls. On the offensive side, Varada added five goals and one assist.
 
Rookie of the Week
Brooke Molchanoff, Mount St. Mary's
Fr., Cicero, NY, Cicero-North Syracuse
 
Brooke Molchanoff finished the week with five points on four goals and an assist. She earned three of the points in a win over Marist, logging two goals and one assist. Molchanoff added 10 draw controls, with a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball as well. 
 
The 2025 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place between April 25 and May 4, 2025. The first and second rounds will be hosted by the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds on Friday and Sunday, April 25 and 27. The bracket will reseed following the second round and the semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the No. 1 seed in the field on Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4.
