Siena’s Banek and McCarthy, and Canisius’ Hanson and Kunz Earn MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week  
Ryan McCarthy, Siena  
Sr., Northport, NY, Northport 
  
Senior attacker Ryan McCarthy totaled team-high seven points (three goals and four assists) with two ground balls in Siena's 17-7 win over Quinnipiac. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week 
Tommy Kunz, Canisius 
Sr., Birmingham, Mich., Brother Rice 
 
Senior goalkeeper Tommy Kunz recorded 14 saves and allowed just eight goals to help guide Canisius to a 9-8 overtime victory at Iona on April 12. He made seven saves in the first half and turned aside five shots in the fourth quarter to help the Griffs remain in a tie for first place. 
 
Face-off Specialist of the Week 
Micah Hanson, Canisius 
Jr., Black Earth, Wis., Wisconsin Heights 
 
Junior face-off specialist Micah Hanson won 15-of-19 draws and scooped up 10 ground balls in the Griffs 9-8 overtime victory at Iona on April 12. Hanson matched season highs in both face-off wins and ground balls during the victory and won all 11 draws contested during the second half and overtime of the win against the Gaels. 
 
 
Rookie of the Week 
Logan Banek, Siena 
Fr., New Hartford, NY. New Hartford 
 
Freshman face-off specialist Logan Banek won 16 of 24 face offs (.667 win percentage) and added six ground balls in Siena's 17-7 win over Quinnipiac.  
 
 
 
The 2025 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place from April 27 through May 3, 2025. The first round will be hosted by No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, while the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the top overall seed. All rounds of the championship will reseed.
