Maddie Pleasants went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 18.2 innings over three outings last week. Both of her starts were shutouts, and she also earned a relief win with 4.2 scoreless innings. On April 15, she pitched a four-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts at Rider. On April 18, she tossed a five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts at Sacred Heart. The following day, she came on in relief in the third inning of a 3-3 game with two runners on base and one out. She stranded the runners, and went on to pitch 4.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts while allowing just two hits and one walk in Marist's 4-3 win. For the week, the opposition hit just .164 against her, and she posted a WHIP of 0.96.
Sophomore Kendall Reda-Fehsal continues to be scorching hot, hitting .765 (13-for-17) with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, 16 RBI's and five runs scored as the Broncs went 4-1, sweeping Saint Peter's and handing Marist just its second loss in league play. Reda-Fehsal delivered the game-winning two-run home run in the top of the seventh to defeat Saint Peter's, 5-4, and complete a three-game sweep. She also hit a game-winning two-run double to break a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the fifth of a 7-6 win over Marist. She's riding a nine-game hitting streak, during which time she's driven in 24 runs.
Rookie of the Week
Fr., Phoenix, Ariz., Xavier College Preparatory
Canisius freshman Tabitha von Kolen hit. 438 (7-for-16) with two triples, seven runs scored and six runs batted in last week as the Golden Griffins went 4-1 in league games against Saint Peter's and Niagara. She also swiped five bases after reaching base safely in all five games played. She recorded multiple hits in three of the Griffs' five games, and she earned a walk in three different contests, as well. For the week, she posted a .526 on-base percentage to go with a .688 slugging percentage and she recorded 11 defensive putouts as the team's primary centerfielder.
The 2025 MAAC Softball Championship is an eight-team single and double elimination championship taking place between May 6-10, 2025. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination and games 3-12 will be double elimination. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
