EDISON, NJ (April 27, 2025) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship begins this Sunday, April 27 with the championships’ first round. The field of six includes top-seeded Sacred Heart University, No. 2 Siena College, No. 3 Canisius University, No. 4 Marist University, No. 5 Manhattan University, and No. 6 Quinnipiac University. First round games will be hosted by 3
rd and 4
th seeds and the semifinals and championship games will be hosted by top-seed Sacred Heart.
No. 3 Canisius (6-9, 6-2 MAAC) vs. No. 6 Quinnipiac (2-11, 2-6 MAAC)

In the first game of the 2025 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, No.3 seed Canisius hosts No. 6 Quinnipiac. During the regular season, the Griffs narrowly beat the Bobcats, securing a win with a one goal lead. Canisus is led by All-MAAC second team honorees Jordan Reed and Alexis Simard, as well as face-off specialist Micah Hanson, who sits second in the MAAC in ground balls.
The Quinnipiac team features Justin Robbert who was named Second Team All-MAAC at the attack position, Nick Meoni, a Second Team All-Conference selection at short stick midfield, and Joe Konesco, who was named an All-Rookie honoree. Goal keeper Mason Oak has made 12.62 saves per contest, which ranks 12th nationally.
The winner of this match-up will go on to face either No. 1 Sacred Heart or No. 2 Siena College, depending on winning percentages.
No. 4 Marist (7-7, 5-3 MAAC) vs. No. 5 Manhattan (6-8, 4-4 MAAC)

Game two of the first-round features No. 4 Marist and No. 5 Manhattan. Both teams are returning to the post-season after opening and semifinals exits in the 2024 MAAC Championship. In their regular season meeting in April, Marist pushed past Manhattan, 14-10. The Jasper squad features MAAC Defensive player of the year, Connor Haward, who notched the best ave percentage in the league ( 0.577). Manhattan also has key players in Damien Blando on the defensive side, as well as Kelly Depree in the midfield.
Marist Red Foxes enter the first round as the fourth seed. The Red Fox squad has Michael Cassano, who earned the Long Stick Midfielder of the Year distinction for the 2025 season as well as attacker Collin Patrick, defensemen Aiden McCaffrey, and face-off specialist Dylan Bedell. Marist is averaging 11.21 goals per game.
The 2025 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place from April 27 through May 3, 2025. The first round will be hosted by No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, while the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the top overall seed. All rounds of the championship will reseed.
