Canisius came out strong, taking an early 3–1 lead behind goals from Mason Wolford and Micah Hanson. Quinnipiac answered with three straight scores to close the first quarter ahead, 4–3. The Bobcats carried that momentum into the second frame, rattling off four unanswered goals – including two by Nate Watson – to take a 7–2 lead into halftime.

The Golden Griffins mounted a comeback in the third, pulling within two at 8–6 on goals from Wolford and Patrick Mitchell. However, Quinnipiac regained control with two late goals in the period, stretching the margin to 11–6 heading into the final quarter.
Canisius made one last push, with Wolford adding two more goals in the fourth, but Quinnipiac sealed the game with strong defensive play and a man-up goal to close out the 12–10 win.

Canisius was led by Wolford’s five-goal performance and a four-point outing from Jordan Reed (2 goals, 2 assists). Goalie Tommy Kunz stopped 10 shots in the loss.
Despite outshooting Quinnipiac 46–34 and winning the ground ball battle (40–29), the Golden Griffins were unable to convert on extra-man opportunities, finishing 0-for-3. Quinnipiac capitalized on their lone man-up chance and held the edge in clutch moments.
