Marist’s Ahr, Quinnipiac’s Horan, and Iona’s Andarowski Earn Jersey Mike’s MAAC Softball Weekly Awards

Pitcher of the Week 
Sydney Horan, Quinnipiac 
Sr., Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville 
 
Sydney Horan had an outstanding week, going 5-1 across our games against Manhattan and Sacred Heart. Over 34.1 innings pitched, she posted a 0.62 ERA, recorded 22 strikeouts, and allowed just three walks. She also reached a career milestone with 400 strikeouts. 
 
Player of the Week 
Haley Ahr, Marist 
R.-Jr., Union Beach, NJ, St. John Vianney 
 
Haley Ahr hit .722 this past week, going 13-for-18 with two home runs, nine RBIs, and five runs scored as the Red Foxes went 5-0. She had four consecutive multi-hit games, and she hit safely in each contest. On April 22 against Merrimack, Ahr went 3-for-3 with a run scored as Marist earned a 4-3 win in game one. She drove in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth in game two, as she went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. On April 25 against Manhattan, Ahr went 7-for-9 with seven RBIs and a homer in each game. She went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in game one, and she was 4-for-5 with five RBIs and two runs scored in game two. She capped the week by going 1-for-2 with a run scored in Marist's 10-0 win on April 27. With her 13-for-18 performance, Ahr took over the national lead in batting average (.525). 
 
 
Rookie of the Week 
Fr., Watertown, CT, Watertown 
 
Nadia Andarowski had another stellar week in the circle for the Iona University softball team. The rookie went 2-0 with two shutouts and held batters to a .208 batting average this past week of play. She opened the week with a complete game shutout, scattering six hits with two walks and four strikeouts in a 3-0 victory at Saint Peter’s for the doubleheader sweep. The Watertown, CT native followed that performance up with her third career shutout, yielding Bucknell to five hits in another 3-0 win as the Gaels capped non-conference play with a sweep over the Bison. Andarowski leads all MAAC pitchers with a 1.04 earned run average in conference play and is second overall with a 2.22 earned run average for the season. 
 
 
The 2025 MAAC Softball Championship is an eight-team single and double elimination championship taking place between May 6-10, 2025. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination and games 3-12 will be double elimination. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
