Marist Trio of Myers, Pleasants, and Kunze Earn Jersey Mike’s MAAC Softball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Maddie Pleasants, Marist

Maddie Pleasants led Marist in batting average (.571), hits (8), RBIs (9), total bases (16), and OPS (1.743 - 1.143 slugging and .600 on-base) while tying for the team lead in homers (2) in the Red Foxes' 4-0 week. She also tossed nine scoreless innings in the circle with 17 strikeouts and a win. Pleasants hit safely in all four games last week. In game two of a doubleheader against Canisius on April 1, she went 4-for-4 with four RBIs, three runs scored, a home run, and a double in Marist's 11-1 triumph. In that game, she also pitched the final two innings, and she struck out three while not allowing a run. In the first game of a doubleheader against Fairfield on April 4, Pleasants went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, a run scored, a home run, and a double in Marist's 8-6 win. Her two-run homer in the fifth gave Marist the lead for good, and added a two-run double an inning later. In game two of the doubleheader, Pleasants recorded a career-high 14 strikeouts as she tossed a four-hit shutout in Marist's 6-0 triumph.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Kiley Myers, Marist
Sr., Latrobe, Pa, Greater Latrobe

Kiley Myers threw her second no-hitter of the season and earned wins in all three of her appearances last week as she went 3-0 with a 0.91 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 15.1 innings. On April 1, Myers earned wins in both ends of a doubleheader against Canisius. She tossed a no-hitter in game one and came within one error of a perfect game. In that game, she struck out four and threw just 48 pitches in five innings as Marist won 8-0. She struck out six over four innings in game two as Marist won 11-1. On April 4 against Fairfield, Myers allowed just one earned run in 6.1 innings for her third victory of the week. For the week, Myers struck out 14 and allowed just nine hits as the opposition hit just .164 against her.
 
 
Rookie of the Week
Sienna Kunze, Marist
Fr., Chandler, AZ, Perry
Sienna Kunze hit .538 (7-for-13) with a 1.677 OPS (1.077 slugging, .600 on-base) and totaled two home runs, seven RBIs, four runs scored, and two walks as Marist went 4-0 last week. She hit safely and had at least one RBI in all four games. In game one of a doubleheader against Canisius on April 1, she hit a walk-off three-run homer to enable Marist to prevail by the mercy rule in five innings. In game two, she went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the Red Foxes' 11-1 victory. In game one of a doubleheader against Fairfield on April 4, she belted a home run in Marist's three-run fifth as the Red Foxes took the lead for good in an 8-6 victory. She also drew two walks. In the second game, Kunze went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a double as Marist prevailed 6-0. She also was the catcher in this contest for Maddie Pleasants, who threw a four-hit shutout and struck out 14.
 
The 2025 MAAC Softball Championship is an eight-team single and double elimination championship taking place between May 6-10, 2025. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination and games 3-12 will be double elimination. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
