Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards Announced

Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Cashieve Blair, Saint Peter's

Senior sprinter Cashieve Blair delivered a historic performance at Monmouth’s Home Opener, capturing gold in the 200m with a time of 20.98. The mark shattered the Saint Peter’s outdoor school record and made Blair the first Peacock in program history to break the 21-second barrier in the event. His performance currently stands as the top mark in the MAAC this season. Blair also anchored the Peacocks’ 4x400m relay team at the outdoor home opener earlier in the week, helping Saint Peter’s finish with a time of 3:43.03.
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Tyler Durang, Sacred Heart

Durang led the Sacred Heart men to victory on Saturday by winning two events and placing second in another in the Rider University 6-Way Invitational. The sophomore racked up a team best of 28 points out of the Pioneers winning total of 247 points with his performances. First, Durang won the hammer throw with a new personal best of 55.65 meters (182' 7") and easily topped the IC4A automatic qualifying standard of 52.00 meters in the process. He continued on to win the discus throw with a fling of 45.97 meters (150' 10"), missing the IC4A auto standard in the event by just three centimeters. Lastly, Durang finished out his day with a second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.27 (46' 10"). Durang currently ranks second in the MAAC in both the hammer and discus, and third in the conference in the shot put.
 
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Manasi Simpkins, Marist
Fr., New Rochelle, NY, New Rochelle
 
Simpkins led the way for the Red Foxes at the Rider Invite with a standout triple-win performance, capturing first place in the 200-meter dash, long jump, and as a member of the victorious 4x400-meter relay team. He clocked a winning time of 22.66 in the 200 meters, soared 6.75 meters (22 feet, 1.75 inches) to win the long jump, and anchored the relay squad to a first-place finish in 43.19.
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Alexandra Samperi, Marist
So., Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, Hasbrouck Heights
 
Alexandra Samperi led the charge for the Red Foxes at the Rider Invite with a historic day, setting two school records and earning multiple top finishes. She broke her own program record in the long jump with a mark of 5.72 meters (18 feet, 9.25 inches), surpassing her previous best set in 2025. Earlier in the meet, Samperi sprinted to a school-record time of 12.13 in the 100-meter dash, eclipsing the 2017 record of 12.44 while finishing second overall.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week/Women’s Rookie of the Week
Gianna Glovack, Rider
Fr., Niagara Falls, NY, Niagara-Wheatfield High School
 
Gianna Glovack won the discus to open the 2026 outdoor season on Saturday, competing at the Rider 6-Way. Glovack topped the field in the discus throw with a mark of 38.34 meters. It was the number two mark in the MAAC. She also finished 8th in the hammer throw in 43.36m.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10, 2026, at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, MD, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University.
