Weekly Award Winners Announced for Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Men’s Co-Track Performer of the Week
Logan Schaeffler, Marist
So., North Merrick, NY, Sanford H Calhoun High School
 
Logan Schaeffler won the 3K steeplechase this weekend at the Red Fox River Rumble at 9:13.72, which stands as the second best time in the MAAC this season.
 
Men’s Co-Track Performer of the Week
Mamadi Diawara, Rider
Fr., Toms River, NJ, Toms River North
 
Diawara won the 400 hurdles at the Rider Invitational in 53.41. He has the #3 time in the MAAC behind two other Rider athletes. He also anchored the 4x400 relay to victory in 3:16.89. It is the #2 time in the MAAC this year. 
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Damere Lassiter, Rider
So., Glassboro, NJ, Glassboro
 
Lassiter won two events and placed third in another to lead the Broncs at the Rider Invitational. He won the shot put in 15.41 meters, won the hammer with a personal best throw of 47.60 meters, and was third in the discus with a personal best throw of 43.62 meters. He has the top mark in the shot put in the MAAC this season. 
 
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Ian Crowley, Sacred Heart
FY., Arlington, VA, Washington-Liberty High School
 
Crowley competed in the IC4A Championship decathlon on Saturday and Sunday at Rutgers University.  He defeated a field of 12 starters to become Sacred Heart's first-ever IC4A decathlon champion.  He led wire-to-wire throughout the 10-event odyssey, after he won the first two events (the 100 meter dash and long jump) of the competition.  The rookie also won the 110 meter hurdles, placed 2nd in the 400 meters and racked up third place finishes in the shot put and javelin.  Crowley now ranks first in the MAAC in the decathlon, 5th in the 110 meter hurdles, 7th in the long jump, and top-20 in five other events.  Additionally, he currently ranks 43rd in the NCAA East Region in the decathlon.  
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Nyahingiva Musa, Sacred Heart
So., Nashua, NH, Nashua H.S. South
 
Musa competed in the ECAC Championships at Rutgers on Saturday and Sunday and became Sacred Heart's first-ever ECAC individual champion in a sprint event.  The sophomore won the 100 meter dash in dominant fashion.  Musa clocked 11.70 seconds in cold, rainy conditions on Sunday to beat the runner-up (Rutgers' Naylah Jones) by a whopping .19 seconds.  She also scored two points for the Pioneers in the 200 meter dash, by placing 7th in 24.94 seconds.  Additionally, Musa anchored Sacred Heart's 4 x 100 meter relay team a 3rd place ECAC finish.  Musa currently ranks 2nd in the MAAC in the 100 meters and 4th in the 200 meters.  
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Maria Chiariello, Rider
Jr., Hicksville, NY, St. Anthony's
 
Chiariello won two events and placed sixth in another at the Rider Invitational. She won the hammer in a new personal best throw of 47.60 meters, won the discus with a mark of 40.36 meters, and placed sixth in the shot put with a mark of 10.46 meters. She has the #2 mark in the MAAC for the discus and the hammer. 
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Alicia Ramos, Marist
Fr., Rockaway, NJ, Morris Knolls High School
 
Ramos rewrote the Marist record book in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a 14.59 to surpass a mark that had stood since 2007 to take first place at the Red Fox River Rumble. She also took third in the 200 meter dash at 25.95.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10, 2026, at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, MD, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University.
