EDISON, NJ (July 16, 2026) – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court selections on Wednesday.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men’s college basketball programs that demonstrated exceptional academic achievement during the previous academic year. To qualify for the honor, programs must post a team GPA of 3.0 or higher while including the GPA of all student-athletes list on the team’s foster during the season. The award is open to both four-year and two-year institutions with at least one active NABC-member coach. Iona, Merrimack, Mount St. Mary's, Saint Peter's, and Siena were among the Metro Conference men's basketball programs recognized with this distinction.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes individual men's basketball student-athletes who have excelled academically during the academic year. To be eligible, student-athletes must be academically classified as juniors, seniors, or graduate students, compete as varsity players, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year. Student-athletes must also attend a four-year institution with at least one active NABC-member coach. This year, 34 Metro Conference men's basketball student-athletes earned NABC Honors Court recognition.
