Metro Conference Announces 2026-27 Olympic Sports Championships Schedule

EDISON, NJ (August 4, 2026) – The Metro Conference has announced the dates and host sites for its 2026-27 Olympic sports championships.
 
The 2026-27 championship season will begin with the Men’s and Women’s Tennis Fall Master’s Tournament, set for October 2-4, 2026, at Quinnipiac University. The tournament will determine the men’s and women’s singles and doubles representatives who will advance to compete at the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship.
 
The fall championships continue with the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, which will be held for the first time in conference history at Blue Sky Sports Complex in Middletown, NY, on Saturday, October 31. The championships previously took place at Twin Ponds on the Farm. The championships will feature all 13 conference teams, with Iona University and Quinnipiac University entering the season as the defending men’s and women’s champions, respectively.
 
The championship slate continues with the Men’s Soccer Championship, which runs from November 7-14. The tournament will feature the top six teams, with each match hosted by the higher seed. Siena University enters the season as the defending champion. The Women’s Soccer Championship follows from November 8-15 and will feature the same tournament format, with Sacred Heart University returning as the defending champion.
 
The 2026 Volleyball Championship will serve as the final event of the fall championship season, taking place from November 17-23. The tournament will feature the top six teams in the standings, with the higher seed hosting first-round matches. The No. 1 seed will host the semifinals and championship match on consecutive days, with the host institution selecting the dates of competition. Fairfield University returns as the defending champion.
 
The Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will open the winter championship season from February 17-20 at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, OH. The championships will feature all conference swimming and diving institutions. Men’s diving will open competition on Wednesday, February 17, while women’s diving will begin the day’s events on Thursday, February 18. The Metro Conference recently extended its partnership with SPIRE Academy for an additional three years, with the facility continuing as the host site for the championships through 2029. Fairfield University enters the season as the defending champion on both the men’s and women’s sides.
 
Continuing the winter championship slate, the Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place February 27-28 at the Nike Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. The championships will feature all conference indoor track and field institutions, with Sacred Heart University and Quinnipiac University returning as the defending men’s and women’s champions, respectively.
 
The spring championship season begins with the Esports Championship, scheduled for April 2-4 at a location to be announced at a later date.
 
Water Polo follows from April 10-11 at Marist University in Poughkeepsie, NY. The championship will feature the top four teams, with associate member Wagner College entering the season as the defending champion.
 
The Women’s Golf Championship continues the spring championship slate from April 20-22 at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The championship will feature all eligible women’s golf programs, with Quinnipiac University returning as the defending champion. The 2027 season marks the second consecutive year that the Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be contested separately. The Men’s Golf Championship will follow from April 27-29, also at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, with Iona University returning as the defending champion.
 
The Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will take place April 24-25 at Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The tournament will feature the top four teams in each gender, with Rider University capturing the 2026 men’s championship title and Quinnipiac University as the defending women’s champion.
 
The spring championship season continues in May with the Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will run from May 2-8. The tournament will feature the top five teams, with the higher seed hosting the first round and the No. 1 seed hosting the semifinals and championship game. Marist University is the defending champion. The Women’s Lacrosse Championship will follow a similar format from May 2-9 but will feature the top six teams, with Fairfield University returning as the defending champion.
 
Also taking place May 8-9, the Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be hosted by Marist University and feature all conference teams. Mount St. Mary’s University and Quinnipiac University are the defending men’s and women’s champions, respectively.
 
Following Outdoor Track and Field, the Softball Championship will take place May 12-15, with May 16 designated as the rain date. The tournament will feature the top six teams, with the No. 1 seed hosting the entire championship. Marist University is the defending champion.
 
Women’s Rowing follows May 15-16 at Cooper River in Camden, NJ. Associate member Jacksonville University captured the 2026 championship and enters the season as the defending champion.
 
Baseball will conclude the 2026-27 championship season from May 26-29 at Heritage Financial Park in Wappingers Falls, NY, with May 30 designated as the rain date. The tournament will feature the top six teams, with Rider University returning as the defending champion. The conference entered its second year of a three-year agreement with Heritage Financial Park, which will host the championship through 2028.
 
Tickets for all Metro Conference Championships will be available at a later date. Ticket information, along with updated championship dates and times, will be announced through the Metro Conference website, social media channels, and championship pages.
