Oosting, Keenan, and Chmil Earn Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Megan Oosting, Canisius, Sr., Midfield, 5-7, Lakefield,
Ontario/Lakefield District
Oosting led
the Griffs attack during a pair of games against nationally-ranked foes
during the week. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year totaled seven goals
and 12 draw controls against Cornell and Ohio State. In a narrow defeat to the
12th-ranked Buckeyes, Oosting matched a career high with five goals, while
adding eight draw controls which is one shy of her own school record.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Keenan, Fairfield, Jr., Goalkeeper, 5-7, Wantagh, N.Y.
Keenan backboned an impressive Stags defensive effort against New
Hampshire. She allowed only three goals, coming within 52 seconds of a
scoreless first-half. She finished the game with 12 saves and a pair of
ground balls. It is the lowest opponent point total since 2000 when
Fairfield allowed two goals in a win.
Rookie of the Week
Courtney Chmil, Fairfield, Fr., Midfielder, 5-8, Garden
City, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy
Courtney Chmil netted a pair of goals, putting home both of
her shots, in the Stags win over New Hampshire. She also had a pair of
ground balls and collected three draw controls in the victory.
