Offensive Player of the Week

Amanda Best, Fairfield, Jr., Attack/Midfield, 5-2, Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland

Best paced the Stags offense to a 2-0 week with a team-best eight points, with five goals and three assists.  She scored a team-best five points in the overtime win at Canisius, including the game-winning tally during the extra period.  Best had a hat trick on Saturday, as well as dishing out two assists.  In the win at Iona she scored twice and had an assist.  Best also had a ground ball in each victory and recorded a draw control against Iona.

Defensive Player of the Week

Katie Keenan, Fairfield, Jr., Goalkeeper, 5-7, Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh

Keenan backstopped the Stags to a perfect 2-0 week and did so with a GAA of just 8.57.  She made 14 saves on the week, with eight coming in the win at Iona.  She then stopped six shots, including the stop of a free position shot in the final minute of regulation to send the game to overtime. Keenan picked up five ground balls on the week, with four coming in the victory over Canisius.

Rookie of the Week

Jamie Leone, Fairfield, Fr., Attack, 5-6, Massapequa Park, N.Y./Farmingdale

Leone had a pair of three-point games in helping the Stags to a 2-0 week against Iona and Canisius.  She netted a pair of goals in the win at Iona, while also handing out one assist.  She scored the opening goal of the game at Canisius and then her first assist stymied a Griffs run and tied the score 3-3.  Leone's second assist came in overtime, feeding Chloe Mangan for the go-ahead goal.  She had a ground ball in the win at Iona.
