MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Joy Adams, Iona

So., F, 5-11, Orlando, FL/Evans

 

Iona College sophomore forward Joy Adams scored a career high 29 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, her 12th double-double of the season, to help the Gaels to a 95-86 victory over Quinnipiac in their lone contest of the week. The win extended Iona's winning streak to 11 games, the longest in program history. Adams went 10-for-14 (.714) from the field, and knocked down nine shots from the charity stripe in the win. On the glass, Adams grabbed four of her rebounds on the offensive end and 15 on the defensive end. Adams also added two assists and a steal in the victory.

 

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

Julia Duggan, Rider

Fr., C, 6-1, Marmora, N.J./Ocean City

 

Duggan averaged 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds for the week as the Broncs went 1-1, winning against Saint Peter’s by 28-points before losing by four to Canisius. In 26 minutes against the Peacocks, Duggan compiled her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Against Canisius, she added nine points shooting four-for-four from the field and had four rebounds while compiling two assists, a block, and a steal.
