Metro Adds Jordan Sarnoff as Associate Commissioner Marketing & Communications

EDISON, NJ (July 23, 2026) – Jordan Sarnoff, who served as the Assistant Athletic Director at University of Nebraska at Omaha, has been named Associate Commissioner of Marketing and Communications by Commissioner Travis Tellitocci and will be joining the Metro Conference staff effective August 10.

"Jordan is one of the brightest young communications professionals in collegiate athletics, and we are excited to welcome him to the Metro Conference at such a pivotal time in our history," said Metro Conference Commissioner Travis Tellitocci. "As we continue to tell the story of the Metro Conference, Jordan's creativity and innovative mindset will help establish our new brand and connect with fans in new and meaningful ways. He has a proven track record of generating national attention and creating meaningful engagement. We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to the energy and fresh perspective he will bring to the Conference."

Sarnoff will primarily oversee the planning and execution of communications initiatives surrounding Metro Conference championships, with an emphasis on basketball, while also helping lead the conference's overall strategic communications efforts. In this role, he will serve as the conference's primary media liaison, helping shape and share the stories of the Metro Conference, its member institutions, and its student-athletes.

Sarnoff joins the Metro Conference following two seasons at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he served as Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. During his time with the Mavericks, Sarnoff led communications operations for 17 NCAA Division I programs and Baxter Arena, while managing external communications, media relations, digital strategy, and promotional initiatives.

While at Omaha, Sarnoff played a key role in elevating the national profile of the men’s basketball program, spearheading external promotion and sales efforts surrounding the program’s viral “trash can locker room celebration” leading up to the team’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. The campaign generated international coverage, licensing opportunities, and reached an audience of more than 80 million people over a three-week span, resulting in more than $15 million in media value and a 32 percent increase in merchandise sales compared to March 2024.

In addition to his communications and marketing efforts, Sarnoff helped grow Omaha Athletics’ digital presence by more than 30,000 followers across platforms, contributing to a 679 percent increase in impressions and a 481 percent increase in engagements since September 2024. He also negotiated and activated a joint marketing partnership with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), generating more than 2 million impressions worldwide while creating Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for Omaha student-athletes.

Prior to his time at Omaha, Sarnoff spent four years at his alma mater, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), where he progressed from Coordinator of Athletic Media Relations to Director of Media Relations and later served as Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics. At 19 years old, Sarnoff became the youngest NCAA Division I men’s basketball sports information director.

During his tenure at FDU, Sarnoff led external communications and digital strategy during one of the most historic moments in program history, guiding coverage efforts surrounding the Knights’ 2023 NCAA Tournament appearance and historic first-round upset of No. 1 seed Purdue. He also oversaw broadcasts for NEC Front Row and YES Network while serving as the primary liaison for regional and national broadcasts, including CBS Sports Network, ESPN networks, and ESPN+.

Throughout his career, Sarnoff has been recognized as an emerging leader in collegiate athletics, earning a place on the 2026 Top 100 Rising Athletic Directors/Future ADs List, receiving the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Rising Star Award (University Division), and being named to the 2023 CSC 30 Under 30 list among numerous other professional honors and accolades.

Sarnoff has served as a member of the Professional Development and Continuing Education Committee with the College Sports Communicators, as well as the Men’s College World Series Media Coordination Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
