Morgan Cupo helped lead the Bobcats to their second straight win, scoring both of Quinnipiac's goals in their 2-1 win over UAlbany on Saturday afternoon in Albany. Cupo broke the scoreless tie in the 73rd minute with her first of the contest before making it a 2-0 lead just under four minutes later. Cupo now leads the team with three goals and six points.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cate Burns, Siena
Jr., Spencerport, NY, Spencerport
Burns tied an individual program-record with her fourth consecutive shutout as Siena battled reigning America East regular season champion Binghamton to a scoreless draw Thursday night in the Southern Tier in the Saints lone action last week. The junior keeper was credited with four saves and successfully quarterbacked the thwarting of 12 corners to preserve the stalemate against a potent Bearcats offense which had totaled nine goals in winning each of its first three matches. Burns has not bequeathed a goal spanning her last 360 minutes, while her 19th career shutout Thursday moved her into a tie for second most all-time in program history.
Rookie of the Week
Romane Lanni, Canisius
Fr., Prevost, Quebec, Canada, Brewster Academy
Scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for a three-point night in the Griffs 2-1 victory at Colgate on Aug. 27. Tallied the primary assist on the Griffs opening goal and notched the eventual decisive tally just 45 seconds later. Finished tied for the team lead in the contest with two shot attempts.
The 2026 Metro Women’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 8-15, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 8, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 12, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 15.
