EDISON, NJ (Oct. 4, 2021) - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced today that the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s (MAAC) Senior Associate Commissioner/Chief Operating Officer Lauren Eads has been named to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee effective immediately.
The NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee performs duties necessary to the ongoing operation of Division I Women’s Lacrosse and is comprised only of Division I members, unless otherwise specified. The appointment process for Division I committees is coordinated through multisport conference offices.
“The MAAC has always been a part of NCAA governance structure since the conference’s inception,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “The MAAC continues to support the ever-expanding mission, values, and traditions of the NCAA and the bolstering of the student-athlete experience. It is wonderful to have someone of Lauren Eads’ experience join the women’s lacrosse committee. She will bring the perspective of a former student-athlete and her wide administrative experience to the deliberations of the committee.”
Before returning to the MAAC, Eads was Vice President/Director of Athletics at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, where she set the overall strategy for the Department of Athletics and its 15 NCAA Division II sports with the university’s mission at the forefront. She led a full-time staff of 19 employees, in addition to 27 part-time employees and 250 student-athletes, while also managing the department’s budget of over $6 million. Under her leadership, the Cavaliers captured the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Academic Championship in 2018-19, with 100 student-athletes receiving all-academic team honors.
“I am very excited and honored to have been selected to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee,” said Eads. “I look forward to being able to use my collegiate administrator experience to continue to grow the women’s game and provide the best experience for the student-athletes.”
Eads’ appointment to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee runs through August of 2023.
