Junior Shaunae Brown's runner with 13 seconds left solidified the first head coaching victory for Sahar Nusseibeh as Canisius defeated Colgate, 61-58, Saturday at the Koessler Athletic Center in non-conference women's basketball action. Brown led the Griffs in scoring for a second consecutive game, netting 13 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Kayla Jackson scored 11 points and hauled in a team-best seven rebounds, while Dani Haskell chipped in with 10 points for Canisius.

Four Stags reached double figures in the setback, including Andrea Hernangomez recording her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Lou Lopez-Senechal led the Stags with 15 points.

The Lady Jaspers worked hard to outperform the Stetson Hatters but failed to leave with a win, losing 57-55. Courtney Warley led the Jaspers with 20 points and nine rebounds in the effort en route to scoring the 1,000

Despite a game-high 24 points from Angel Parker, the Purple Eagles were bested by La Salle Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's basketball action, 83-71. The 24 points by Parker is a season-high, surpassing her previous high of 22 points she scored at Oakland. The junior now has five games of 20 or more points in her career. She also finished with a team-best five assists and eight steals.

Siena Women's Basketball (0-3) once again came down to the wire in search of its first win of the 2021-22 season, but could not hold on to a late lead in the first-ever meeting with Patriot League foe Lafayette (1-3) Saturday evening. The Saints' offensive woes continued in the 49-44 loss to the Leopards at the Kirby Sports Center in Easton, Pennsylvania. Margo Peterson led the Saints with 16 points.
