Manhattan Hires Marques Dantzler as Associate AD for NCAA Compliance

Riverdale, NY – Manhattan College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Marianne Reilly has announced Marques Dantzler as the Associate Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance. In this position, he will oversee the compliance and student-athlete development efforts of the department's 19 Division I sports and its student-athletes.

"We are excited to welcome Marques to the Jasper staff," said Reilly. "The depth of his experiences will be valuable to our coaches and student-athletes, especially since the landscape of college athletics is rapidly evolving. Marques will oversee all NCAA and athletic compliance activities, serve as a sport administrator and on the department's senior staff."

Dantzler arrives in Riverdale with over 18 years of athletic experience, most recently in his position at Chicago State University as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.

Dantzler was the Cougars' Senior Compliance Administrator and served as a sports administrator. He was Chair of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Administrators group, and a member of the Board of Athletic Advisors.

Prior to his time in Chicago, he spent three years at Alabama A&M University as the Director of Athletics Compliance, where he was also a member of the senior management team. Dantzler also led institutional efforts to revise athletic department policies and procedures based on the Academic Performance Program Data Review process.

He also spent four years at Texas A&M Kingsville as an Assistant Athletic Director, and one at the University of Incarnate Word. 

Throughout his career, Dantzler also served as an athletic department liaison with admissions, financial aid, housing, residence life and the registrar office.

He has previous experience in the University of Oklahoma, University of Michigan and Troy University compliance departments.

A 2000 graduate from Auburn University with a degree in finance, Dantzler earned his master's degree in sport administration at Canisius.
