LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University women's basketball head coach
Lynn Milligan has announced staff title changes.
Steven Harney, in addition to being labeled Assistant Coach is the Broncs' Director of Player Development and International Recruiting Coordinator.
MyNeshia McKenzie is the team's Program Director and Social Media Director along with her Assistant Coach duties.
"Every year as a program, you want to continue to have the best people around you and enhance their strengths to benefit the overall growth of our program," said Milligan. "I am incredibly fortunate to have three amazing people around me who have the same vision and passion that I have for this program."
In addition to Harney and McKenzie, Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator
Pam Durkin is entering her 15
th season as a member of the Broncs coaching staff in 2021-22. During her time with the Broncs, she helped the team record 26 victories in 2019-20, the most ever for the program since moving to Division I. One of her top recruiting efforts, Durkin saw 2020 graduate Stella Johnson get selected 29
th overall in the WNBA Draft.
"Pam continues to work tirelessly for this program in every capacity," said Milligan. "She has her hand in every phase of the program, and has been instrumental to our overall progress and success."
Harney is entering his fourth season on the staff this year. In his first three seasons on the staff, the Broncs have produced a 53-35 record and reaching the MAAC Semifinals in all three seasons, advancing to the WNIT in 2018-19 and being declared the MAAC Champions when the 2020 MAAC Tournament was cancelled.
"Steve has developed our players to reach their maximum potential and beyond," said Milligan. "To be a great player development coach you have to be available and relatable to your players so the message isn't lost and that is exactly what Steve is for our players."
McKenzie joins the Broncs this season following a stellar playing career with the Broncs. In 2014, McKenzie graduated as the programs leading rebounder and third-leading scorer. She spent two seasons at both Holy Family and St. Joseph's (Pa.) prior to returning to Rider.
"MyNeshia has done amazing job since her arrival this summer," said Milligan. "She bleeds cranberry and will always do what is necessary for the success of the program."
The Broncs open the season with an exhibition against TCNJ on Nov. 3 and begin the regular season with a trip to Penn State on Nov. 11.
