Caitlin Lowe Named to NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee

EDISON, NJ (September 21, 2021) - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced today that the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s (MAAC) Director of Women’s Basketball Operations, Caitlin Lowe, has been named to the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee effective immediately.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee performs duties necessary to the ongoing operation of Division I Rowing and is comprised only of Division I members, unless otherwise specified. The appointment process for Division I committees is coordinated through multisport conference offices.

“Since the MAAC was formed the conference has always remained active in NCAA committees,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “The MAAC continues to aid in multiple aspects of the student-athlete experience and evolving the mission, values, and traditions of the NCAA. It is great to have Caitlin Lowe join the committee given her previous participation as a rowing student-athlete and coach.”

Lowe was a member of the University of Miami Women’s Rowing from 2012-16 where she was a four-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team and a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete. She graduated from Miami with her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology and a double minor in Sports Administration and Psychology. The native of Alexandra, New Zealand then attended the University of Tennessee where she received her Master’s of Science in Recreation and Sport Management while also serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the women’s rowing team.

"I am thrilled to have been selected to the NCAA Rowing Committee,” said Lowe. “To be able to use my background in rowing to serve current student-athletes is an exciting opportunity and a huge honor. I look forward to working with the committee to continue to develop the sport and provide a great championship for the student-athletes."

Lowe’s appointment runs through August of 2025 and she will be replacing MAAC Senior Associate Commissioner Jessica Grasso on the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee.
