Marist Conable, Wenzel, and Fairfield’s Pappas, Gaulin Win MAAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week:
 James Conable, Marist
So., Alameda, CA, Encinal High School
James Conable took wins in the 200 IM, the 1000 yard freestyle, and the 500 yard freestyle
 
Men’s Diver of the Week:
Tyler Wenzel, Marist
Sr., Middletown, CT, Middletown
Tyler Wenzel finished first in two diving events. The one-meter diving Wenzel placed first and the three-meter diving Wenzel placed first.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week:
Erini Pappas, Fairfield
So., Phoenixville, Pa, Phoenixville Area
 
Erini Pappas earned three more first-place positions by touching the wall first in the 200 back, the 100 back, and as part of the 200 free relay. She posted a time of 2:07.41 in the 200 back which was just over two seconds better than the runner up. Pappas took first in the 100 back with her time of 58.50 which was a little more than a second better than the second-place finisher. The 200 free relay posted the top time by completing the course in 1:38.81.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week:
Alexis Gaulin, Fairfield
Jr., Plainville, Mass, Bishop Feehan High School
 
Alexis Gaulin picked up a first and a second place showing in the two diving events against Marist over the weekend. she scored a meet-high 216 points to win the 1 meter dive before responding with 211.35 points for second place in the 3 meter dive.
 
The 2023 MAAC Men's & Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships return to the Burt Flickinger Center on the campus of Erie Community College (ECC) in Buffalo, NY for the 12th consecutive year. The four-day meet co-hosted by Canisius College and Niagara University will take place from Wednesday, February 8 through Saturday, February 11.
