2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships Day Three Recap

BUFFALO, NY (February 11, 2022) – At the end of day three of the 2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships, the Rider men’s team has increased its point total to 473, while the Niagara women’s team takes the lead over Fairfield by just six and a half points.

Day 3 Highlights
  • Fairfield University's Erini Pappas (4:26.02) and Ed Hunt (3:55.57) both earned first place in the Men's and Women's 400 Individual Medley. 
  • Callan Smith of Monmouth University is now the back-to-back champion in the Men's 100 Backstroke with a time of 47.40. Monmouth’s Camryn McHugh took first place in the Women’s 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.
  • The Iona College women’s 400 Medley Relay team broke the MAAC record with a time of 3:45.91. The Gaels were comprised of Luiza Da Silveira, Julia Moser, Ashley Benkert, and Isabella Nicholson. The Gaels' Conor Mullintook first place in the Men’s 100 Butterfly, Michael Faughnan in the Men's 200 Freestyle, and Julia Moser in the Women’s 100 Breaststroke, Julia Moser.
  • Marist’s Grace Reeves took first place in the Women's 3m Dive with a score of 239.45 just two nights after earning gold in the 1m Dive on day one.
