EDISON, NJ (February 18, 2022) – The 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball season begins today with 10 teams in action in 12 games
 
The 2022 MAAC Preseason Favorite as voted on by the league’s head coaches, Monmouth University travels to a neutral site in Cary, NC to take on Penn State University at 2 pm. The Hawks take on Northeastern University in a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm on Saturday and close out the weekend with a single game against LIU on Sunday at 10 am.
 
Last season’s MAAC Regular Season Champions and the league’s first NCAA Tournament at-large bid, Fairfield University travels to Elon University to take on the Phoenix at 4 pm. The Stags play Elon in a three-game series before heading home on Sunday.
 
The defending MAAC Baseball tournament champion Rider University travel to Winston-Salem, NC to take on Georgetown University at 10 am today and VCU at 2 pm. The Broncs close out their opening weekend on Saturday with a matchup against Lafayette College at 2 pm.
