Max Grant had a stellar week for Canisius in a weekend split of a four-game series against Morehead State. Grant batted .643 (9-of-14) with seven runs scored, a triple, two home runs and three RBI during the week. He posted a .722 on-base percentage and a 1.214 slugging percentage, good for a 1.936 OPS.
Pitcher of the Week
Trey Dombroski, Monmouth
Jr., Manasquan, NJ, Wall
Against SoCon favorite Wofford, Dombroski fired six strong innings, allowing a run on two hits with seven strikeouts in a win over the Terriers. Dombroski retired the final 13 batters he faced in the victory.
Rookie of the Week
Aaron Duffy, Canisius
Fr., Burlington, Ontario, Assumption Catholic Secondary
Aaron Duffy shined in his lone start of the weekend against Morehead State. Duffy allowed just one hit and one run in his five innings of work, while walking one and striking out six. The first-year pitcher posted a 0.40 WHIP and a .063 batting average against in his appearance.
