LOUDONVILLE, NY – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Metro Atlantic Athletic conference (MAAC) announced the appointment of Siena Athletics' Senior Associate Athletic Director / Senior Woman Administrator
Angie Jabir to the prestigious NCAA Division I Council. Jabir's four-year term will begin on July 1, 2022, and continue through 2026.
"I am honored to be named to the Council and thankful for the opportunity to represent both Siena and the MAAC," Jabir said "I look forward to working alongside respected leaders in our industry at this pivotal and historic time in college athletics."
The Division I Council is responsible for the day-to-day decision-making for Division I. Athletics directors, athletics administrators, senior women administrators, faculty athletics representatives and student-athletes serve on the Council, which includes a representative from each Division I conference.
The Council includes various subcommittees dedicated to the advancement and progression of NCAA Division I Athletics, including the Competition Oversight Committee, Legislative Committee, and Strategic Vision and Planning Committee among others.
Jabir is in her first year at Siena following nearly a decade of senior collegiate athletics administrative experience, during which she served on numerous NCAA committees including the NCAA Division II Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct and the NCAA Division II Rowing Committee. She is also currently a member of the MAAC Women's Golf and Men's & Women's Tennis Committees, and is a part of several committees within Siena College.
