Max Grant recorded four multi-hit performances in Canisius' 4-0 week. Grant batted .650 (13-of-20) with three doubles, a triple, a home run and nine RBI. He also scored in all four games, crossing home plate six times. The Fredericton, New Brunswick, native logged consecutive four-hit games, while also recording three multi-RBI games.
Pitcher of the Week:
Alex Pansini, Marist
Gr., Westfield, NJ, Westfield
Pansini was electric on the mound on Sunday, throwing eight scoreless innings, allowing just five hits, no walks, no runs, and striking out ten in a win.
Rookie of the Week:
Peyton Consigli, Canisius
Fr., Fonthill, Ontario, St. Francis High (NY)
Peyton Consigli went 1-0 with a save in two appearances last week. Over three shutout innings, Consigli allowed one hit while walking one and striking out six. Consigli was the winning pitcher in Canisius' walk-off victory over its Western New York rival St. Bonaventure. After allowing a leadoff double, Consigli used a pair of strikeouts and a groundout to prevent any Bonnies runs from scoring. In last Friday's victory over Siena, Consigli struck out four batters en route to a two-inning save over the Saints.
