Canisius Baseball’s Max Grant Voted 2022 NCBWA All-American

EDISON, NJ (June 15, 2022) – The 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball Player of the Year Max Grant of Canisius College was voted to the 2022 National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association (NCBWA) All-America Second Team.
 
Grant led the MAAC with a .398 batting average and 90 hits this season; his 90 hits are tied for the third most in a single season in MAAC history. He also hit 10 home runs, drove in 53 RBI, scored 56 runs, slashed .398/.489/.646 and was successful on seven of his eight stolen base attempts. His .398 average currently ranks 14th in the NCAA.
 
The sophomore from Fredericton, New Brunswick helped lead Canisius to their fourth MAAC title in program history and earned All-MAAC Championship Team honors in the process. During the MAAC Baseball Championships, Grant batted .444 (8-for-18) with two home runs, a double, six RBI, and six runs scored.
 
In the field, the sophomore second baseman only committed four errors on 195 chances all season for a .979 fielding percentage. He also earned MAAC Player of the Week honors three times this season.
