MAAC Welcomes 2022-23 Administrative Fellows

EDISON, NJ (June 16, 2022) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) welcomes its administrative fellows for the 2022-23 academic year: Brian Davis, Mia Kness, and Samuel Watkins.
 
The three start the pursuit of their careers in collegiate athletics in the fall of 2022 and will be an integral part of planning and executing the conference’s championships, ancillary events, and day-to-day operations.
 
“We are excited to welcome this year’s fellows to the MAAC, “MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor said. “I believe they have the potential to be a special group to work with and I’m looking forward to them coming on board in the fall. With their experiences in sports media, event planning, and scheduling, we know they will be vital assets to the future of the conference.”
 
Past participants have gone on to work full-time at the conference office, member institutions, and various Division I athletic departments throughout the country.
 
Davis graduated from Alfred University with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing in 2016. During his time at Alfred, Davis was the Marketing Club Event Coordinator, Athletic Director Intern, and played on the Alfred Football team. Since then, he has earned his master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Rider University and has served as both a Program Coordinator and Sports Director for Chinatown YMCA.
 
Kness graduated from Seton Hall University in 2021 with her bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Sports Media. She is continuing her education at Georgia Southern University as she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Professional Communications and Leadership. Kness’ experience in communications and tournament management includes working in the Women’s Sports Foundation/ NBC Sports Group and interning with USGA PJ Boatwright. Kness also golfed at both Seton Hall and Georgia Southern and was named the Seton Hall Female Student-Athlete of the Year for 2019-2020.
 
Watkins graduated from Howard University in 2015 with his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Communications and from Adelphi University in 2022 with his master’s degree in Sports Management. During his time at Howard, Watkins served as the team manager for the Men’s Basketball program, has been a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, and also played on their 1867 Club Basketball Team. This past spring, he was a Sports Information Media and Events Intern at Queens College where he provided office support for the staff members in the athletic department.
