Jordan Confessore Promoted to Senior Associate Commissioner/Basketball

EDISON, NJ (June 7, 2022) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Commissioner Richard Ensor, today announced the promotion of Jordan Confessore to Senior Associate Commissioner/Basketball. Confessore’s appointment will begin on July 1, 2022.
 
“We are delighted to promote Jordan to Senior Associate Commissioner,” said Ensor. “Jordan has been a barrier breaker in the sport of men’s basketball since being propelled into her current role from women’s basketball back in 2016. She is well regarded for her professionalism and operational expertise having served as Tournament Manager for a number of NCAA Championships and for her role in assisting with moving the Basketball Championships to Atlantic City. Over her 10-year tenure at the MAAC, Jordan has provided strong leadership in a conference that prides itself for excellence in athletics and academics. She has been a consummate professional over her time at the MAAC and I look forward to her continued growth in the field.”
 
Confessore is completing her 10th year at the MAAC, holding the title of Associate Commissioner/Men’s Basketball since 2016. She joined the MAAC staff in August 2012 as the Director of Basketball Operations, before being elevated to Assistant Commissioner for Women’s Basketball in June 2015.

Confessore serves on the MAAC senior management staff and is responsible for the conference priority sport of men’s basketball. Her responsibilities include game and broadcast scheduling, and oversight of the annual basketball championships. Confessore creates the MAAC men’s basketball league schedule annually and has oversight of the MAAC broadcast package with ESPN for men’s basketball on ESPNU and the MAAC ESPN3 and ESPN+ School Productions of some 200 broadcasts. In her role as Tournament Manager for the annual MAAC Basketball Championships, she coordinates operations and assists in marketing with host arenas and member schools. Additionally, Confessore was instrumental in the multi-year hosting partnership with the world-famous Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ as the host facility for the MAAC Basketball Championships. She oversees the MAAC’s partnership in the Men’s Basketball Officiating Alliance, which includes the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big East Conference, the Atlantic 10 Conference, Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), Big South Conference, Ivy League, Patriot League, Northeast Conference (NEC), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), America East Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference.
 
Extending outside of internal MAAC responsibilities, Confessore serves as Tournament Manager for MAAC hosted basketball events which include NCAA Championships, the ESPN Events Invitational at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World, Basketball Hall of Fame hosted tournaments at the Mohegan Sun Resort and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and international tournaments such as the Belfast Classic and MAAC/ASUN Dublin Challenge in Ireland. She has served as the Tournament Manager of four NCAA Championships, most recently the 2022 Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Round in Buffalo, NY. Moreover, Confessore served as the event planner for the MAAC Honor Roll Dinner, a VIP red carpet event at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and she participated in the Disney Institute Professional Development and Leadership Training and the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Mock Selection Exercise at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis.

Confessore holds her degree in Sports Media from the school of Sports Management and Media at Ithaca College, where she was a four-year women's basketball player. In 2017, she received the Ithaca College Department of Sports Management Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.
