Jessica Grasso Named to NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee

EDISON, NJ (Aug. 31, 2022) – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced today that the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s (MAAC) Deputy Commissioner Jessica Grasso has been named to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee effective immediately.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee performs duties necessary to the ongoing operation of Division I Women’s Lacrosse and is comprised only of Division I members, unless otherwise specified. The appointment process for Division I committees is coordinated through multisport conference offices.

“As a conference, the MAAC prides itself in being a part of NCAA governance and having our administrators serving on national committees,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “The MAAC continues to support the ever-expanding mission, values, and traditions of the NCAA and the bolstering of the student-athlete experience. It is wonderful to have someone of Jessica Grasso's experience join the women’s lacrosse committee. She will bring the perspective of a former student-athlete and her wide administrative experience to the deliberations of the committee.”

Identified as an emerging leader in intercollegiate athletics, Grasso enters her eighth year at the MAAC for 2022-23. In her role, she serves as the CFO and is responsible for all the financial matters, NCAA reporting, strategic planning, and internal operations of the MAAC, including direct supervision of all full-time employees and contractors. Additionally, her role includes the designation of Senior Woman Administrator.

Besides the oversight operations of the conference office and its’ championships, Grasso’s financial responsibilities span over several external hosting events. These include the NCAA Men’s Basketball 1st and 2nd Rounds, NCAA Women’s Basketball Regionals, NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, the MAAC ASUN Challenge, and the Orlando Classic Invitational.

Grasso is an active member of Women Leaders in College Sports (WLCS), and currently serves on the WLCS Education and Professional Committee, an officer of the CAANJ (Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey) Executive Committee, and former member of the NCAA Division I Rowing Committee.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve on the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee,” said Grasso. “I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to advance the sport of Women’s Lacrosse and provide a positive athletic experience to the student-athletes.”

Grasso’s appointment to the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee runs through August of 2023.
