Edison, NJ (Jan. 25, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is excited to announce its most recent staffing updates to start the new year. Administrative Fellow,
Mia Kness, has been promoted to Director of Championships and
Tim Dezzi joins the MAAC as Director of Compliance and Championships.
Mia Kness joined the MAAC in August as one of its Administrative Fellows. In that position, she helped the MAAC with its day-to-day operations, ticketing, compliance, championship operations and special events. In her new role as Director of Championships, Kness, will be responsible for overseeing her assigned sports, including the planning and coordination of conference championships.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Kness, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Sports Media from Seton Hall University in May 2021. She then continued her education to Georgia Southern University where she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Professional Communication and Leadership. Kness was a five-year student-athlete for both Seton Hall and Georgia Southern competing on the women’s golf team.
The MAAC welcomes,
Tim Dezzi, as the new Director of Compliance and Championships. As the Director of Compliance & Championships, Dezzi, will serve as the primary contact for any compliance related issue throughout the MAAC, while also overseeing and planning the championships for Men and Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field, Cross Country, Men and Women’s Tennis, & Water Polo.
Prior to joining the MAAC, Dezzi was a compliance intern for the Rutgers Athletic Compliance Office. In his time at Rutgers, he worked on developing rules education platforms for admin/coaches/student-athletes, monitored CARA, entered, and updated student-athlete information into compliance software, and provided interpretations to the Assistant Director of Compliance. Dezzi hails from Mullica Hill, NJ, and is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and master’s in Global Sports Business. During his time at Rutgers, Dezzi, was a four-year student-athlete on the Scarlet Knights Baseball team.
