MAAC Named as Host of Inaugural Bermuda Collegiate Invitational

The inaugural Bermuda Collegiate Invitational will occur on March 15-20, 2024 at the prestigious Port Royal Golf Course

EDISON, NJ (Feb. 24, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in conjunction with All Sports International (ASI) and the Bermuda Tourism Authority, today announced the launch of the inaugural Bermuda Collegiate Invitational on March 15-20, 2024 at the prestigious Port Royal Golf Course.
 
The tournament will feature high-caliber teams from across the country, as well as several women’s and men’s golf teams from the MAAC.

Port Royal, designed by the famed golf architect Robert Trent Jones and founded in 1965, features immaculate greens, perfect fairways, and the world-famous 16th hole perched on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It hosts NCAA college tournaments, the NFL Bermuda Charity Golf Classic, and prestigious local tournaments, and was home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 2009 to 2014. Port Royal promises to provide an outstanding test of golf for the women’s and men’s collegiate teams.

“The MAAC is proud to host this exciting new golf event featuring Division I teams seeking early season competition and training opportunities,” said Rich Ensor, Commissioner of the MAAC. “The Invitational will also provide the participating student-athletes with international educational and travel experiences as they are introduced to the culture and history of Bermuda. The MAAC is confident that this annual tournament will be a case study in success for the NCAA and all of its members.”
