Abigayle Perry, Mount St. Mary’s

Perry started the season with a bang, hitting .700 (7-for-10) in the Mount's four games at the Chanticleer Showdown hosted by Coastal Carolina. Perry reached base in 11 of her 14 plate appearances for a .786 on-base percentage, adding four runs, two doubles, a home run, three RBI, two steals and a 1.200 slugging percentage for the week. Perry went 5-for-6 on the opening day in games vs. Saint Joseph's and UAlbany, including 3-for-3 with a three-run homer against the Great Danes. She was 2-for-3 in the Mount's 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina, who had a 13-1 record entering the game.
Pitcher of the Week
Avery Neuhart, Mount St. Mary's
Gr., Alexandria, VA, Hayfield Secondary
Neuhart went 1-0 with a 0.68 ERA in 10.1 innings in two starts at the Chanticleer Showdown. She opened with 3.1 scoreless innings in the Mount's 2-0 win over Saint Joseph's. Neuhart then tossed a complete game, allowing just one run, in Mount's 3-2 win over a Coastal Carolina team that entered the game with a 13-1 record.
Rookie of the Week
Fallyn Stoeckel, Rider
Fr., Nutley, NJ, Nutley
Stoeckel was the Broncs' top pitcher at the Campbell Camel Stampede, earning the win in both of Rider's wins on the weekend, while also pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief in her Rider debut against Ohio. Stoeckel limited the Bobcats to just one hit in her debut, before earning back-to-back wins over Wagner. She limited the Seahawks to six hits without walking a batter over the complete-game 7.0 inning effort, striking out seven in the first win. She then allowed just two unearned runs in 3.2 innings of relief, striking out two to earn the second win. All told, she pitched to a 2-0 record with a 1.14 ERA with nine strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched.
The 2023 MAAC Softball Championship is a six-team double elimination tournament taking place between May 10-14, 2023. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
