Sylvan Lake, AB—Niagara sophomore outfielder Nick Groves is playing for the Sylvan Lake Gulls of the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) and has been named an All-Star.

This season with the Gulls he has played in 33 games while hitting .344 which is seventh in the WCBL. Following his record breaking season, he has drawn 24 walks which is fourth in the league. He also has stolen 18 bases while also scoring 30 runs primarily out of the leadoff spot. He has also driven 15 runs this summer.

The London, Ont. native wrapped up his first season with the Purple Eagles in 2023 as he set a new MAAC record with 57 walks. As a freshman he had a .339 average along with a .504 on base percentage which was second in the MAAC. Groves also finished the season with 21 stolen bases and 40 runs.
