Marist’s White and Quinnipiac’s Cabezas Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

The captain of the Bobcats Noe Cabezas has been a leader and off the field this season. He leads QU's team among field players in minutes as he has started each game, playing an average of 82.5 in each. He has also tallied two goals and one assist and is third on the Bobcats with five points on the year. Both of his goals came in a 5-1 Bobcat win over CCSU on Sept. 10, just 77 seconds apart.
 
 
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Alyssa White, Marist, Women’s Volleyball

A member of the Marist women's volleyball team, Alyssa White has played in 11 matches so far in 2024 for the Red Foxes. In those matches she has collected 39 kills and 21 total blocks. A four-year starter at Marist, White has played in 93 total matches for the Red Foxes, starting in 84 of them. Off the court, White is a pillar of the Marist community with her involvement in academic, athletic and community initiatives. She serves as the President of the Black Student Athlete Alliance, which was formed in 2020 to serve Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) student-athletes in varsity and club sports. As a Digital Media Major, White has been selected to the Dean's list six times, which is every semester she has been on campus. She has also been selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team & MAAC Academic Honor Roll every year she has been eligible.
