Siena’s Caputo and Fairfield’s Pierce Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

William Pierce enters the week as the Stags' top scorer with five goals and one assist for 11 points, highlighted by his three-goal effort in a win over Columbia. His five goals are tied for the second highest total among the MAAC and his 0.92 points per game average places 10th among the conference leaders. Pierce has tallied 11 goals in his Fairfield career. He is a finance and accounting major.
 
 
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Julia Caputo, Siena, Women’s Cross Country
Sr. / Canton, CT, Canton
 
Named to the President's List as Caputo had carried a 3.92 overall GPA in Health Studies and Health Science. Has been named to MAAC All-Academic Team & MAAC Academic Honor Roll. Also named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Track & Field team. Caputo placed seventh with a time of 21:05.0 in the Jasper Invite earlier this season.
Caputo's time of 21:12.4 was good enough to place fifth in the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships 6K race this past Friday at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY.
