Saint Peter’s Cotten, Canisius’ Peltier, and Siena’s Figueroa Named Rawlings MAAC Baseball Weekly Award Winners

Player of the Week
Tyler Cotten, Saint Peter's
Jr., Yorktown, PA, Camp Community College/Grafton High School
 
In the weekend series at Coppin State University, Cotten hit three home runs, including two home runs on Sunday. For the series, he finished with three home runs, eight RBIs, eight hits, and three doubles. Cotten also went 8-14 at the plate.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Tom Peltier, Canisius
Gr., Wheatfield, NY, Niagara Wheatfield
 
Peltier came out of the bullpen at Presbyterian, striking out ten batters while allowing two earned runs over four innings to earn the win. Peltier has struck out 17 batters in 8.0 innings this season, giving him the sixth best strikeout per nine innings rate in Division I (19.12).
 
Rookie of the Week
Tyler Figueroa, Siena
Fr., Colonie, NY, Colonie Central
 
Figueroa hit .333 with a .467 on-base percentage and a stellar 1.217 OPS spanning the Saints three-game series at Appalachian State last weekend. He homered and knocked in five runs, while reaching base safely at least twice in each game and scoring in every contest. On Friday, Figueroa hit a grand slam while also adding an RBI triple. He walked three times and scored Saturday, and added a pair more hits and a stolen base in the series finale Sunday.
 
The 2024 MAAC Baseball Championship returns to Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY for the third straight season. The six-team double elimination championship, will take place from May 22-25. For all information regarding the 2024 MAAC Baseball Championship, please visit maacsports.com/baseball.

Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
