Eric Rataczak, Niagara
R-Jr., Circle Pines, MN, San Diego/Arizona Western/Torino Grace High School
Rataczak finished the three game series with a .643 batting average as he went 9-14 from the plate, he two homers and drive in eight runs. He opened the weekend with a 3-5 game with three RBI. In the second game of the series, he went 3-4 with four RBI and two homers. In the final game of the series, he went 3-5 with one RBI. On the weekend he scored nine runs. He currently leads the MAAC in hitting.
Pitcher of the Week
Justin Guiliano, Canisius
R-Jr., Ellenville, NY, Ellenville
Guiliano pitched 7.0 shutout innings against Siena on Saturday to earn the first win of the doubleheader for Canisius. He struck out a career high 11 batters while allowing only allowing two hits and two walks.
Rookie of the Week
Tyler Figueroa, Siena
Fr., Colonie, NY, Colonie Central
Figueroa hit an even .500 with a whopping 1.167 slugging percentage and 1.700 OPS last week for the Saints in their three-game series at Canisius. The freshman went 6-12 at the plate with a pair of homers and doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI. Figueroa reached base safely at least twice in all three games, and played unblemished defense at the keystone, playing error-free ball at second base while recording 10 assists. He punctuated his performance with a 3-for-4 effort with his first collegiate multi-homer game and a double in the series-opener Friday.
