Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Aidan Borra, Sacred Heart, Men’s Soccer
Gr. / Syosset, NY, Syosset
Borra has been critical to SHU men's soccer's hot start to the 2024 campaign, as he has started all six games and has played a team-leading 491 minutes. The graduate student from Syosset, N.Y., has tallied four points on a goal and two assists so far this year. His impact as a captain in the midfield has helped SHU start the season with a 5-1 record, as it is currently riding a four-game win streak.
Borra entered 2024 after a successful first season with the Pioneers. The St. John's transfer helped Sacred Heart make its first-ever NEC Championship final after playing 90-plus minutes in all three postseason contests, making the All-Tournament Team. He was also named CSC Academic All-District after maintaining a 3.72 GPA while obtaining a Master of Business Administration.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Marissa Graziano, Iona, Women’s Soccer
So. / Pearl River, NY, Pearl River
Sophomore Marissa Graziano is having a breakout sophomore campaign for the Iona University women’s soccer team this fall. She leads the Maroon & Gold with eight points on three goals and two assists in nine games. This past week, Graziano posted five points for the Gaels. The Pearl River, NY native recorded two first half goals including the game winning opening strike off the free kick in Iona’s 6-0 win over Delaware State this past Wednesday. Graziano capped the week with a first half assist on the lone Iona goal in Saturday’s setback to Fairfield.
