Canisius’ McMillan IV and Mount St. Mary’s Raflo Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

The MAAC’s leader in scoring average, Canisius junior Paul McMillan IV has been selected as the Hercules Tires/MAAC Male Student-Athlete of the Week. McMillan IV has scored 10-or more points 16 times and he has posted 20-or more points in the scoring column 10 times, highlighted by his career-high 31-point performance against St. Bonaventure on Nov. 9. On Jan. 10, McMillan IV scored a game-high 30 points in the Golden Griffins’ win over Rider, with those 30 points standing as the most points for a MAAC player in a league game this season. He is the first Canisius player to have multiple games of 30-plus points scored in a home game since 2013-14, and he also averages 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest. In the classroom, McMillan IV holds a 3.43 grade point average as a psychology major.
 
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Jo Raflo, Mount St. Mary’s, Women’s Basketball
Sr. / Gainesville, VA, Osbourn Park
 
Raflo played 30 minutes against Sacred Heart on January 11, going 8-9 from the field and 6-7 from beyond the arc while scoring 22 points against the Pioneers. In addition to her scoring efforts, Raflo grabbed six defensive rebounds and is currently averaging 13.6 points per game. As well as her feats on the court, Raflo works with the campus ESPN broadcast studio as a sideline reporter for multiple school programs.
