Rider Sweeps MAAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Joe Tiroly, Rider

Tiroly delivered a standout performance in the series against Saint Peter’s, hitting four home runs overall. The junior homered in each game of the three-game series, including two home runs in game two. He totaled six hits and 11 RBIs in the series.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Kyle Batt, Rider
Fr., Medford, NJ, Shawnee
 
Batt made his collegiate starting debut on the mound during Rider’s home opener against Saint Joseph’s. He pitched 5.0 dominant innings, allowing no hits, no runs, and recording five strikeouts.
 
Rookie of the Week
Peter Crespo, Rider
Fr., Philadelphia, PA, Roman Catholic
 
Crespo's impressive freshman season continued as he blasted three home runs throughout the week, highlighted by his first career grand slam in game one of the series against Saint Peter’s. He wrapped up the week with five hits and 11 RBIs, including a standout six-RBI performance in the game against Saint Peter’s in game one.
 
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Championship is an eight-team, single and double elimination championship, that will take place at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY on May 20-24. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination, games 3-12 will be double elimination and all rounds will reseed. This will be the fourth straight season that the championship is hosted at Clover Stadium.
