Joe Tiroly, Rider

Joe Tiroly delivered a standout performance at the plate for the Broncs this week, going 7-for-10 with three home runs and nine RBIs. The sophomore tallied at least two hits in each of Rider’s three games, starting with a solo homer in a 7-4 win over NJIT. He capped off the week with a dominant showing in the second game of a doubleheader against Manhattan, launching two more home runs to push his season total to 14.
Pitcher of the Week
Gavin Hawkes, Rider
Jr., Yardley, PA, Pennsbury
Gavin Hawkes was lights out, out of the bullpen this week for the Broncs once again. The junior pitched 3.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts in a 5-4 win over NJIT. Hawkes followed with 6.0 no-hit innings and six strikeouts in a 7-4 win over Manhattan, earning the win in relief. Overall, Hawkes went 9.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, and 9 K.
Rookie of the Week
Noel Rivera, Marist
Fr., Brooklyn, NY, Suffield Academy
Noel Rivera had a breakout week for the Red Foxes. Rivera slashed a dominant .389 batting average, tallying seven hits. In those seven hits, Rivera collected two doubles and a home run. Rivera also tallied two RBIs and seven runs scored for the Red Foxes. Rivera finished the four-game stretch with a .667 slugging percentage and a .476 on-base percentage.
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Championship is an eight-team, single and double elimination championship, that will take place at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY on May 20-24. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination, games 3-12 will be double elimination and all rounds will reseed. This will be the fourth straight season that the championship is hosted at Clover Stadium.
