Male Student-Athlete of the Week
James Kemp, Iona, Baseball
Gr./ Bayonne, NJ, Hudson Catholic
Kemp over the week got a hit in all four games the Gaels played in, but none more important than his walkoff single against Siena in the second game of their double header on Sunday. Tallying 6 hits and 5 RBIs over the four game stretch, Kemp has lifted his batting average back up to .344. With his walkoff, that RBI was his 100th career RBI in a Gaels uniform. He has been the core of the Iona offense and is now in the midst of a seven game hitting streak.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Jess Forte, Saint Peter’s, Softball
Sr. / Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex
The Peacocks went 3-2 in five games starting on April 23rd and Jess Forte was a big reason for that. She recorded three hits, one of which was a home run and two doubles. Forte also totaled seven RBIs over the five-game span. In the field, she had nine putouts and 15 assists.
