Trent Rumley, Canisius

Senior infielder Trent Rumley had a career day at the plate on Friday, leading Canisius to a doubleheader sweep of Marist. He went 7-for-10 with seven RBI, two home runs, three doubles and five runs scored in the two games. In the opener, Rumley drove in six of the Griffs 11 runs, a career high. Rumley improved his batting average to .368 and is hitting .450 in conference play.
Pitcher of the Week
Peyton Consigli, Canisius
Sr., Fonthill, Ontario, St. Francis High (N.Y.)
Right-hand pitcher Peyton Consigli led Canisius on the mound with a 7.0 inning gem and win at Marist. He came on in relief in the third inning for the Griffs and struck out nine Red Foxes, allowing one unearned run and scattered three hits. Consigli ranks second in the conference ins strikeouts and has struck out six-or-more batters in five of his seven appearances this season.
Rookie of the Week
Sean Stephenson, Iona
R.-Fr., Mansfield, MA, Canterbury
Infielder Sean Stephenson produced four multi-hit games over the week. He started with a two hit game at FDU driving in two runs and scoring two himself. During the double header on Friday against Manhattan, Sean produced three hits and an RBI in game one, before adding on two hits in game two. Finally on Sunday, Sean went for three more hits including his second home run of the season. His season batting average went up from .286 to .333
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Championship is an eight-team, single and double elimination championship, that will take place at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY on May 20-24. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination, games 3-12 will be double elimination and all rounds will reseed. This will be the fourth straight season that the championship is hosted at Clover Stadium.
