Joe Tiroly, Rider

Joe Tiroly had a big weekend at Canisius, going 7-for-12 with six RBIs and a home run. The sophomore broke Rider’s single-season RBI record with a two-run homer in the opener and capped the series with a four-hit performance. Tiroly now leads the program with 66 RBIs on the year.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Brian Young, Rider
Sr., Neptune, NJ, Communication High School
 
Senior pitcher Brian Young was dominant in Rider’s series-opening win at Canisius, tossing his second complete game of the season in a 6-0 shutout victory. Young scattered just three hits, struck out six, and didn’t allow a run – while also recording the 200th strikeout of his career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sean Stephenson, Iona
R-Fr., Mansfield, MA, Canterbury
 
Sean Stephenson had another big week for Iona tallying six hits, three RBIs and five runs scored. His biggest hit came in the opening game at Merrimack when he launched a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the ninth, which would end up being the winning run. Sean now bats .340 with a .931 OPS on his freshman year and continues to be the spark plug for the Gaels batting second.
 
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Championship is an eight-team, single and double elimination championship, that will take place at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY on May 20-24. Games 1 and 2 will be single elimination, games 3-12 will be double elimination and all rounds will reseed. This will be the fourth straight season that the championship is hosted at Clover Stadium.
