Merrimack’s Ferrentino and Quinnipiac’s Gray Named MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Frankie Ferrentino, Merrimack, Baseball

Ferrentino is fresh off of a stellar junior year at Merrimack. The catcher hit 13 homeruns and notched 35 RBI's while hitting .281 on the year. He finished the season 52 total hits and 31 runs scored while also holding a .983 fielding percentage behind the plate. He capped off the 2025 campaign with a two run walkoff homer in the final game of the Warriors season to secure a win over Iona.
 
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Sierra Gray, Quinnipiac, Track and Field
Jr./ Miller Place, NY, Miller Place
 
Gray culminated her 2025 outdoor campaign with a pair of podium finishes, taking second in the 10k at the MAAC Championships before placing first in the 5k last weekend at the ECAC Championship, held at George Mason. This win helped the Bobcats to a third-place finish in the event to finish off the 2025 campaign.
 
The victory was her first individual win at a championship meet of her career and capped off a campaign where she also took home a silver in the 5k at indoors and all-conference honors by finishing sixth at the XC championships in the fall.
